Fireworks will not be visible from Jackson Park. In the evening, the sky illuminates when hot air balloons of every color glow for all to see from 8-10 p.m. At least 10 food vendors will be present at the park, as well as craft and home business vendors. $10 per auto. The rain date is Sunday, July 2. Festivities feature two days of local music for all ages, along with family art activities. 5-9:30 p.m.at The Workhouse, 9518 Workhouse Way, Lorton. $20. Gates open at noon, and there will be plenty of activities for the whole family.

Fort Myers passengers will cruise down the Caloosahatchee River from 7:15-10:15 p.m. aboard the Edison Explorer, where they will enjoy appetizers and desserts while watching the downtown Fort Myers fireworks show. Test your knowledge of US history at Sully Historic Site with political trivia, games and fun facts. Live music and festivities begin at 7 pm.

Perry Township Park - Saturday, July 8, Perry Park, East Liberty; vehicle, truck, motorcycle, Rat Rod and tractor show registration, 11 a.m.; parade at noon; fireworks display with music at dusk. Music, food, parade, crowning of Coon Dog Day King and Queen and Coon Dog Day 5K. Food will be also available from 10:30 a.m.to 1 p.m.at the Mt. Brentwood also is starting at the dawn's early light: Runners and walkers will kick off their Independence Day with a Maryland Farms tradition at the 19th Annual Andrews Cadillac Firecracker 5K/10K. Fountain Square, 5th & Vine streets, downtown, myfountainsquare.com.

Residents and visitors are invited to New Bern for the city's annual Independence Day festivities and fireworks show.

Town of Parrottsville fireworks showcase is Saturday, July 1. A fee of $2 per person, proceeds to the Groves Building Fund. Fireworks: 10:00 p.m. Admission is $5; active military members and veterans get in free.

The City of LaFollette hosts an Independence Day Celebration on July 2nd near Roane State Campus. Fireworks start at 9 p.m. Admission is $10.

Beginning at noon, this family-friendly event will provide a variety of delicious foods and beverages, merchant and hand-crafted vendors, inflatables for children, live music, and a fireworks display at dusk. Many of these salutes to America include live music and activities for kids. No on-site parking at the event.

Columbia: Howard County's Department of Recreation will host a free 4th of July festival from 5 p.m.to 10 p.m. Fireworks will begin at dark. The "Sugar 'N Jazz" concert begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, at the bandshell in Niawanda Park, Tonawanda. Of course, you can do this all summer long on Lake Michigan beaches, but the 4th's celebratory fireworks add an extra layer of charm to this kind of outing.

When it comes to Independence Day fireworks across the country, these cities' shows explode above the rest. Tom McCall Upper Elementary School, 1255 Pacific Ave. A drop-off zone will be available to drop off people with disabilities or large items in the west parking lot of EB Rains Park.

"We knew we wanted to do something bigger and better for our community to enjoy", said Director of Parks, Recreation and Special Events Shannon Goodman. There will be food trucks onsite and fireworks after dark.

Central Baptist Bearden hosts a patriotic concert on Sunday July 2, 2017 from 1:30 p.m.to 2:30 p.m.
