Tips for updating to iOS 11

Few days after Apple unveiled its iPhone 8 lineup and the iPhone X, Apple released a major update of its popular, cross platform iTunes music player and organizer app with new features and support for iOS 11.

The APPocalypse is upon us, and all 32-bit iOS apps are about to stop working on all iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices come iOS 11. But switching platforms can be daunting, particularly if you're anxious that you'll lose valuable information in the move.

You could, for instance, drag photos or links from the Safari browser into an email. Whether you're lured in by Apple's suite of services or its slick hardware, there are plenty of reasons you may want to make the leap from an Android phone to the iPhone. It's not so small that you can't use the apps properly but it still takes some getting used to.

The new operating system features a customisable Control Centre. If all your devices are upgraded to iOS 11/High Sierra, then HEVC will work across all of those devices. You can quickly move other files to cloud or computer so they wouldn't accidentally get deleted during the updating.

If you don't want to mess with all that iCloud nonsense, you can backup your device the old-fashioned way: With a cable and iTunes on your desktop.

For iTunes, connect your device to your computer.

You can then annotate the documents using the "mark up feature" and even sign forms on the iPad Pro without having to print them. However, if Apple's servers are under heavy load, you could see that wait time crawl up to an hour or two. The hardware giant has always been tied to rumors about Apple Pay that have included launching a potential physical debit card, though the current Apple Pay Cash card will be a virtual card.

You can create a quick backup of your device to iCloud by going to Settings Apple ID iCloud iCloud Backup. You should do the same for FaceTime.

There are chances that you might not find iOS 11 in good taste. This is a good opportunity to think about how many programs you really want on your phone, and thin out your selection.

On your iPhone or iPad, head to Settings, General, and then tap Software Update. Apple also has new filters to jazz up your image.

If you're a streamer using services such as Spotify or Pandora, you can still long into your accounts just the same once you switch. Explore the Google Play store and try new options. Your phone will detect when you're moving in a auto and disable notifications from popping up on your phone and send an automatic message that you're driving and you'll get back to them when you stop.
