LaDainian Tomlinson Says Ezekiel Elliott 'Quit On His Team' During Broncos Game

The Cowboys offensive line couldn't get much push, and once the Broncos shut down Zeke Elliott and the Cowboys ground game, Prescott couldn't make big plays to loosen things up.

While Elliott made no effort to run down Talib, Prescott tried to shed the blocks of linebacker Brandon Marshall before finally surrendering as Talib turned toward the middle of the field to finish the score.

The 2016 National Football League rushing leader ran nine times for eight yards in the loss. He was asked when the last time that happened was.

The Cowboys were so successful a season ago due to their dominant running game and ability to shut down opposing backs.

"They were on us". Denver's 3-4 defense bottled up the box, while the OLBs consistently managed to bring a pass rush.

Prescott, who was wildly efficient in 2016, was all over the place.

"Well, he had the two plays that were not good plays". There's nothing all that unusual about how yesterday played out. This game will show us a lot, not just for Dallas' ability to slow down the run game, but in covering two elite pass catchers in Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.

This is a tough block for Witten to execute, especially since his first step is with his outside foot, but he simply can't be bullied off the ball like this if Dallas is to be successful running the football. "We couldn't establish the run game".

With his team behind 28-10 in the third quarter, Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott was intercepted by Chris Harris.

"Watch how he stands in the pocket, climbs the pocket after he's gotten hit", Garrett said of Prescott.

And here comes the "quit" narrative. I didn't like that.

It was such a bad look that Hall of Fame running back LaDanian Tomlinson accused him of quitting on the team. The buck stops with Jason Garrett though, and he needs to learn not to so quickly get away from the one thing the Cowboys do better than almost anyone else. It's another thing to quit.

Garrett said on Monday, the day off for the players, he had yet to speak with Elliott but assured the media he not only would address the play in private, but quite possibly in front of the team as a teaching moment. "What he brings to the table is physical, downhill running that's complimenting the play action game and Trevor and what the guys are doing offensively very well". To give up on that play was horrendous. The Cowboys would lose two more defensive backs to injury by halftime: former University of Colorado star Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring) and Nolan Carroll (concussion). I'm genuinely confused by how over-the-top King is here. Garrett is supposed to meet with Elliott Tuesday, so they can put this issue behind them and focus on the Cardinals.
