PC Gaming Company Razer is Entering into the Smartphone Industry

Gaming major Razer bought out Nextbit earlier this year.

Razer a gaming company has launched its own smartphone. But, at the same time, it is built to perform flawlessly in day-to-day tasks. It includes custom ringtones by Razer DJs and custom wallpapers inspired by the world's top gaming titles, such as "Shadowgun Legends".

The device is the first endeavor to create a pure gaming smartphone.

Called simply The Razer Phone, it promises specifications that far outweigh other high-end phones, but has a focus on gaming and multimedia usage. It look sleek and stealthy, with a dark, anodized aluminum exterior.

Razer has unveiled their first Android smartphone, suitably titled the Razer Phone, including a whole load of features that distinguish it from other competitors on the market, mostly tailored towards gamers.

Enjoy a stunning screen backed by UltraMotion™ technology that delivers refresh rates up to 120 Hz. It helps render the game graphics even more smoothly than regular smartphones.

The Razer Phone boasts Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 chip - the same chip that powers the Google Pixel 2 and Galaxy S8. Speaking of which, Android Nougat 7.1.1 is the default, with an Oreo update coming in the spring. The Razer Phone has the same basic design as the Nextbit Robin.

With dual rear 12 MP cameras, the Razer Phone gives photographers a versatile tool to create fantastic images.

The Razer Phone also comes with an 8-megapixel front shooter while a dual 12-megapixel rear setup should allow for pretty nice shots. One for each speaker! It will ship with a THX-certified USB C type headphone adapter. Since the USB-C port is used for data transfer and charging, wired headphones can not be used simultaneously.

The Razer Phone packs a large 4,000 mAh battery, one of the largest capacities found on smartphones today.

The company has shied away from calling its phone a "gaming phone", most likely for fears of association with the ill-fated Nokia N-Gage or even Sony's Xperia Play.

The smartphone is also equipped with a "quad HD" display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Regarding optics, the Razer Phone wears a 12MP sensor on the back and a 8MP sensor on the front. Incredible audio quality is also ensured for users especially when they listen to sounds making using of a good headphone.

The Razer Phone will be available in the United Kingdom exclusively on Three, which is already supposed to be taking pre-orders, although the company hadn't got round to updating its website at the time of writing.

The Nova Launcher is the default launcher on the phone.
